Alberto and Caroline Morgan Di Giovanni - Centro Scuola Scholarships
"Established by St Michael's College alumni, the Alberto and Caroline Morgan Di Giovanni Centro Scuola Scholarships support several area of study: TWO $1,000 scholarships are to be awarded to graduating St. Michael's College student who have achieved high marks in Italian Studies. ONE $1,000 in-course scholarship is to be awarded to an undergraduate USMC student who has achieved top marks in a course related to Dante Alighieri offered in the Mediaeval Studies Program at USMC.* ONE $1,000 in-course scholarship is to be awarded to an undergraduate USMC student who has achieved high marks in the Gilson Seminar in Faith and Ideas and will be taking part in the Gilson Seminar in Rome, to assist with travel costs. *In years when a Dante course is not offered, two $1,000 in-course scholarships will be awarded to an undergraduate USMC student who has achieved high marks in the Gilson Seminar in Faith and Ideas and will be taking part in Gilson Seminar to assist with travel costs.
Beatrice Corrigan Scholarships in Italian
Two awards, one to a student in a Specialist or Major program in Italian who has taken at least two full course equivalents in Italian numbered 200 or above in second year (with an A average). The other to a student in a Specialist or Major program in Italian who has taken at least two full course equivalents in Italian numbered 300 or above in third year (with an A average).
Castrilli Family Scholarship(s)
Awarded to an outstanding student enrolled in a Specialist or Major program offered by the Department of Italian Studies.
CIBPA/Maria & Silvana Paura Family Scholarship in the Faculty of Arts and Science
Awarded to (a) full-time, undergraduate student(s) at the Faculty of Arts & Science, University of Toronto on the basis of financial need. Preference will be given to students enrolled in Department of Italian Studies
CIBAPA (Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association of Toronto) / LIUNA (Labourers' International Union of North America) Award
Awarded to (a) full-time, undergraduate student(s) at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science on the basis of financial need. Student(s) must be compelting a Specialist, Major, or Minor program in Italian Studies.
Department of Italian Studies Bursary Fund
Awarded to a student enrolled in a program offered by the Department of Italian Studies on the basis of financial need and academic performance in second or third year.
Emilio Goggio Scholarship (Undergraduate)
Awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit to a first year student who has obtained the highest mark in an introductory course in Italian Language.
Gianrenzo Cilvio Memorial Scholarship in Linguistics & Dialectology
Awarded on the basis of academic merit to a student in the Major or Specialist Program in the Department of Italian Studies studying Linguistics and Dialectology.
Herbert Edwin Chadburn and Florence Grace Chadburn Memorial Schp in Modern Languages and Literatures
Awarded to undergraduate student(s) enrolled in two or more of the following major programs: French, Italian, German, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish or Ukrainian. Preference will be given to student(s) registered at University College. Recipient(s) must be in good academic standing, and must have demonstrated financial need.
Italian Studies Undergraduate and MA Essay Awards
Best essay submitted by an undergraduate and MA student enrolled in any College or University in Canada, or by students not currently enrolled in an undergraduate or MA program but who have received their BA or MA degree from a College or University in Canada within the past year (12 months) prior to the application.
Jean Arnold Tory Scholarship
Awarded to a student, who is enrolled in a Major or Specialist program in Italian and who has completed ITA343H, and ITA344H with an overall A average.
John A. Grohavaz Italo Canadian Youth Club Bursary
Awarded to an outstanding student enrolled in a Major, Specialist or joint Specialist Program in Italian; based on overall achievement in Italian courses. The award will be made on the basis of academic achievement at the end of third year (A average preferred) and financial need. In the event of two equally qualified candidates in any given year, the award may be split.
Mariano Elia Scholarships in Italian Studies
The Mariano Elia Bursaries were established by Dr. Mariano Elia to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students at St. Michael's College and are minoring/majoring/specializing in Italian Studies. Students must be in their second, third or fourth year of studies at St. Michael's College, be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need. Students must be enrolled in a minor, major, or specialist program in Italian Studies and demonstrates excellence in the Italian Language or Italian Linguistics, and/or Italian Literary Studies. Students receiving Ontario Student Assistance Program funding; Canada Student Loan, or other government aid will be given priority.
Marie Juliette Fischette and Joseph A Fischette Memorial Scholarship
Established by the estate Joseph A. Fischette, this scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to an undergraduate student enrolled in full-time studies (5.0 FCE) at St. Michael's College. Eligible students must be Ontario residents who demonstrate financial need. Eligible students must be in their second, third or fourth year full-time students at the University of St. Michael's College.Preference will be given to students who enroll in a major/specialist program in Italian, French, Philosophy, Music, Nutrition, or Political Science. If there is no suitable candidate, students who enroll in a minor program in any of the aforementioned subjects would be eligible. Preference will be given to students who achieve an academic grade point average of B+ (3.3 GPA) or higher.
Michael Ukas Scholarship in Italian Studies
Awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit to second year students enrolled in a Specialist or Major program in Italian Studies who have successfully completed a second year course in Italian.
Msgr Giuseppe Sbrocchi and the Reverend Michele Marcantonio Bursary
To honour Msgr. Sbroccchi and Fr. Marcantonio and their commitment to Catholic Education. Preference will be given to a student enrolled in one full course in Italian studies or a student enrolled in one full course in the Christianity and Culture Program An in-course award, limited to second, third or fourth year students who achieve an academic grade point average of 3.3 GPA or higher. Applicants must be residents of Ontario who demonstrate financial need.
S Bernard Chandler Scholarship in Italian Studies
Awarded to a second-year undergraduate student in the Department of Italian Studies on the basis of academic merit. Financial need may also be considered.
The First Milton A. Buchanan Scholarship in Italian Studies
Awarded to a student enrolled in second or third year of a program offered by the Department of Italian Studies spending one or two terms( or two students spending one term) at a University in Italy as part of the Study Elsewhere Program. While in Italy, the recipient must be enrolled in at least two full course equivalents in Italian.
The Prize of the Ambassador of Switzerland to Canada
Awarded to outstanding students in the subject in which the prize is awarded (French, German, and Italian) with an A average.
Alberto and Caroline Morgan Di Giovanni - Centro Scuola Scholarships
Scholarships to be awarded annually to 2 graduating St. Michael’s College students who have achieved the top marks in Italian Studies and have demonstrated leadership and community spirit on the St. Michael’s College campus or in the community at large.
The Jess Hann Bursary Fund

The Second Milton A. Buchanan Scholarship in Italian Studies
Awarded to students attending the University of Toronto Summer Program in Siena. While in Siena, applicants must be enrolled in at least one full course equivalent in Italian.
University of Siena Summer Bursaries
To be awarded to students registered in an Italian studies course, as part of the Summer Abroad program in Siena. Financial need will be considered.
